Day 1: Arrival at the Airport in Uganda on the 7 days safari

On arrival at the Entebbe airport in Uganda, we move to the hotel to relax.

Day 2: The trip to Kibale forest national park

We drive to Kibale Forest in Western Uganda. The green landscape with tea plantations and crop fields along the way is so beautiful. A stop in Fort Portal for lunch and a look at the local life is worth it. We continue to the lodge with the forest and Crater lake below.

Day 3: Following Chimpanzees in Kibale Forest in Uganda

Early in the morning, we go to the forest to find the chimpanzees. A moment with the chimpanzees in the middle of the jungle is unforgettable. Chimpanzees are very active in the morning and it is the best time to see them. They eat leaves and fruits in trees and on the ground. Sometimes they hunt monkeys and share their meat. The Kibale forest park is a big primary forest with elephants, birds and forest elephants. We return for lunch and relax in the afternoon or take a nature walk in the nearby Bigodi swamp. A community tour and a visit to the banana beer and coffee brewers is included in this tour.

Day 4: Going to the Gorillas in Bwindi Forest 

We drive southwards through the countryside and Queen Elizabeth national park to Bwindi Forest. There are crater lakes and wild animals to see along the way. In fact, we cross the Equator to the southern hemisphere. We reach Bwindi forest in the afternoon.

Day 5: Seeing the Gorillas in Uganda

In the morning, we register for the Gorilla trek. We take some time in the forest to find the Gorillas. However, when we find them, we spend an hour with the Gorillas as they relax, play, feed and move about. The Gorillas live in a family with babies and mothers headed by a Silverback. Gorillas are vegetarians and mostly eat leaves, fruits and bamboo shoots. After the trekking, we return to the lodge and rest in the afternoon.

Day 6: Exploring Lake Bunyonyi’s landscapes, cultures and birds

We drive to Lake Bunyonyi and relax at the lodge above the lake. This is the second deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika. It is dotted with many islands and surrounded with beautiful terraced hills. In the afternoon, we take a boat cruise around the islands. The two particular Islands that may be of interest are the Leprosy and punishment Islands. This are places of history and past cultures.

Day 7: Departure at Kigali Airport, city tour

This morning, we transfer across the Rwanda border to Kigali for the departure flight. The landscape in northern Rwanda is so picturesque. The journey from Lake Bunyonyi to Kgali is about 4 hours. Before the departure light, we make a city tour of Kigali and then conclude the 7 days safari from Uganda to Rwanda.
