The highlight of the safari begins early in the morning. After a hearty breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers on the rules and guidelines for gorilla trekking. Equipped with trekking gear and accompanied by experienced guides, you will venture into the dense forest in search of a gorilla family.
The trek can last anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you locate the gorilla family, you will spend an awe-inspiring hour observing their behavior, playing, feeding, and interacting with one another. The experience is both humbling and exhilarating as you witness these endangered primates in their natural environment.
After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, you can explore the Twin Lakes of Ruhondo and Burera or enjoy a guided nature walk in the surrounding areas.
