  • Day 3: The hike around Sipi falls

We wake up to breakfast with the sunrise over the Mountain and valleys below. We thereafter make the hike to see the three waterfalls of Sipi. We start with the top and see where the falls begin. The water flows down the cliffs in rather slow motion, then drops meters below. On the downside of the falls, the water is cold. However, you can enjoy a shower while standing on the rocks. In the afternoon, we relax or engage in the coffee experience (optional). We visit the nearby village and learn how they traditionally prepare coffee from the garden to the cup. Here is a culture of different people you may want to see.

  • Day 4: Mount Elgon

On this 14-day Eastern Uganda Budget Tour, relax and transfer through the hills and villages to Mountain Elgon. This is the second-highest mountain in Uganda, with the peak at 4321 meters above sea level. In the afternoon, we make a loop hike on the slopes of the Mountain. We follow the trail through the forest up to the caves and waterfalls. For bird watchers and monkey lovers, the forest is an ideal place to take an adventurous nature walk. We spend the evening relaxing to the sounds of the mountain and forest.

  • Day 5: From Elgon to Pian Upe wildlife Reserve

North of the slopes of Mountain Elgon are the plains of Pian Upe. We drive from the Mountain down to Pian Upe. This is an almost flat area surrounded by mountains. The wildlife here is unique, and some of the animals are rare in Uganda, for example, the Cheetahs and the Roan Antelope.

    Accommodation: Uwa Bandas

  • Day 6: Pian Upe

On this 14-day Eastern Uganda Budget Tour, during the morning and afternoon, we shall try to reach the best corners of Pian Upe. We drive on the best trails for the animals and the rocks where the hyenas hide. We hike to the rocky hill where we see Pian Upe well in all directions. It is here that the local hunters used to gather, and the signs are there. In the Cave, the local warriors and the elders used to meet to plan war.

    Accommodation: Uwa Bandas

  • Day 7: To Kotido the Karamojong town and cultural village

This morning, we drive further north to Karamoja in Kotido town. This town is in the heart of Karamoja. The natural landscape of rocky hills and Mountains is breathtaking. Interestingly, the cultures here are different from the rest of Uganda. In the afternoon, we visit a Karamojong. Here we see how the Karamojong proudly live under their civilization and own terms. We observe how they store food and guard their cows against enemies and wild animals. It is believed that humans started here before spreading out in the world.  In the evening, we relax to the sounds of the region.

    Accommodation: La Maison Hotel

  • Day 8: To Kidepo National Park

On this 14-day Eastern Uganda Budget Tour, the Safari continues through the Karamoja hills and villages to Kidepo National Park. Our accommodation is in the middle of the park, and animals come around all the time. So at night we hear hyenas and lions roar. Warthogs and antelopes graze around here. Kidepo National Park is a savannah and grassland reserve surrounded by mountains on its borders. Furthermore, this park has two distinct valleys, the Narus and Kidepo, where animals can be seen.

    Accommodation: Uwa Cottages

  • Day 9: Kidepo

In the early morning, we search for animals in the park. The Narus valley is an interesting area. Animals come along the river that flows through the valley. The river has the rare dwarf crocodiles. We drive through the valley as we look out for hyenas, Zebras, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and other animals of the savannah. In the afternoon, we relax with views of the park. We then make a sunset safari up to the viewing point. Upon the hill, we enjoy the Kidepo Park from all angles. The animals and scattered trees in the valleys below are so picturesque.

    Accommodation: Uwa Cottages

  • Day 10: To Murchison Falls

On this 14-day Eastern Uganda Budget Tour, from Kidepo, move southwards through the countryside to Murchison Falls National Park. This Park is one of the most interesting protected wildlife areas for a safari in Uganda. The drive takes us through the settlements and townships of northern Uganda. We check in at the lodge with a swimming pool, views of the wilderness, and the River Nile.

    Accommodation: Fort Murchison Lodge

  • Day 11: Murchison Falls

We have a relaxed morning to the sights and sounds of nature. Seeing the wilderness from the poolside or the terrace is so relaxing. Later in the afternoon, as the sun goes down, we go into the park to search for the animals in the wild. Sunset safaris are always fruitful as the lions and leopards come out of their hiding places, then the prey goes into panic.

    Accommodation: Fort Murchison Lodge

  • Day 12: Murchison Falls

On this 14-day Eastern Uganda Budget Tour, after breakfast, move into the park to find the big cats as well as herds of grazers. The River Nile passes through the park and divides it into two parts. We concentrate on the northern side of the river, where it is grassland. The big prey is on this side, and of course, the big cats come along to hunt them. The Pakuba route is great for the leopards, giraffes, and elephants. However, the Victoria and Queen tracks are the best areas to look for the lions and jackals. We return for a lunch break, and in the afternoon, we have a boat safari on the River Nile. It is a cruise on the water to see the animals that come along the shores of the Nile. In the afternoon, it is the time when animals become super thirsty and come to the river for water. We end the cruise below the Murchison Falls. A large amount of water from the whole River Nile falls right in front of us, causing waves and froth. We drive back to the lodge through the park.

    Accommodation: Fort Murchison Lodge

  • Day 13: Murchison Falls to Ziwa Sanctuary

This morning, we go to the top side of the Murchison Falls. We hike up the rocky hill to have a clear view of the falls. The falls form as the river Nile quickly flows through a small way in the rocks. The waterfall is recorded as the most powerful waterfall in the world! From here, we drive south through the Budongo forest. Our destination is the Ziwa rhino sanctuary. This area of about seventy square miles protects the wild white rhinos in Uganda. The landscape is fairly flat, and the vegetation is woodland. This is the right environment for the Rhinos. Other wild animals like antelopes, Warthogs leopards roam the sanctuary. The area is wonderful for bird watching.

    Accommodation: Ziwa Sanctuary Guest House

  • Day 14: Rhino Trekking and departure

On this 14-day Eastern Uganda Budget Tour, start the day with the rhinos that sleep near our accommodation. Mornings are the best time to watch the white rhinos as they begin their daily escapades. We follow them through as they graze. They play and even fight, but largely remain peaceful with each other. The history of the rhinos in Uganda is quite interesting, given the fact that they had become extinct in Uganda. After this bush walk with the white Rhinos, we return to shower and have breakfast. Then we drive to the airport for departure. End
