Day 2 - Nairobi to Samburu
Your safari starts now! You will be transferred by road to Samburu (5h- 6h). Set on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River and neighbouring the Buffalo Springs National Park, Samburu National Reserve is characterized by a spectacular landscape of rugged hills, undulating plains and riverine forests. The park is home to abundant wildlife including a variety of rare species such as the reticulated giraffe, the long-necked gerenuk, Somali ostrich, Grevy’s Zebra, and Beisa Oryx. You can also spot herds of elephants, a variety of predators, and over 450 bird species. The ancient culture of the Samburu people is still alive here, and it is possible to see two unique customs firsthand: watch as herds of cattle respond to each man’s individual voice as they call and see the tribesmen perform incredible dances that go back hundreds of years as part of their culture and heritage. After lunch and relaxation – go for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and Overnight stay in Samburu.
Day 3 - Samburu

Lake Nakuru is home to flocks of sensational flamingos and many other bird species including pelicans, cormorants, black-winged stilts, avocets and migrant European birds. Besides its magnificent bird life, it is also one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhino. Watch these magnificent mammals grazing the shoreline of the lake or wallowing in the mud.
Dinner & overnight in Nakuru
Day 6 - Lake Naivasha , Crescent Island & Hell’s Gate national park
After breakfast, we shall depart to Lake Naivasha for a boat ride and a visit of Crescent Island. Lake Naivasha is a vast freshwater lake that supports a great diversity of game as well as more than 400 species of bird. Cruise through pods of hippos and listen to the shrill cry of the fish eagle. The boat ride provides an excellent opportunity to watch the birds up close in a stunning and tranquil environment. On the island, the terrain is flat, making it easy to walk.
After lunch, in the afternoon head to Hells gate national park. Everything about Hell’s Gate National Park is different. You can take a guided walking safari here. Where else can you do a bicycle safari in Kenya, riding past grazing zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffalos and baboons? The opportunities for climbing are plentiful, accessible and not too challenging on the park’s volcanic spires. The land form here is striking as well, greeting visitors with dramatic gorges, great towers, looming cliffs and steaming columns of geothermal clouds escaping from the rocks.
Dinner & overnight in Naivasha.
Day 7 – Naivasha to Maasai Mara
After breakfast check out and drive to Maasai mara -one of Kenya’s undisputed natural highlights is the Masai Mara National Reserve, which sprawls across more than 1500 square kilometers of the country’s southwest. The park protects a phenomenal array of game, including elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo, as well as crocodile and hippopotamus in the Mara River. The birdlife is no less impressive, with over 450 species. However, the true highlight here is the Great Migration, recognized as one of the seven New Wonders of the world. Arrive in time for lunch and relaxation. In the evening enjoy a game drive with an experienced guide. Exit the park gate by 6 PM.
Dinner & Overnight in Maasai mara
Day 8 & 9 - Masai Mara Full days
The Maasai Mara Game Reserve, which is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. However, the true highlight here is the Great Migration, recognized as one of the seven New Wonders of the world. While July-September is the peak crossing time at the Mara River, timing your trip can be tricky because there’s no guarantee that a herd will decide to cross at a particular time. Not even the wildebeest know when they’re going to cross! This is a natural happening and sometimes the herds stay put for two weeks, other times they could cross four times in one day! Some arrive at the water and swim over immediately; some arrive and spend days hanging around grazing; some arrive and turn back to where they came from.
As your Maasai Mara safari is private, your game drive timings will be flexible, useful if you are travelling with children, or are on a honeymoon. Your days spent at the Mara are shaped by your own wishes. You can take breaks, spending time as you please, relaxing at your lodge. Your driver/guide is only too happy to help plan the details of your stay. For the next two days, get ready to explore the rich terrain and animal life of the Mara.
You may choose to have:
[Option 1] A full day game drive [ one for the whole day] with a packed picnic lunch at no extra cost. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
[Option 2] Proceed for an early morning pre-breakfast game drive, return to the camp for breakfast, then after breakfast relax in the hotel enjoying the facilities, have lunch at lodge and later in the afternoon, you can opt for an optional visit a local Maasai village to learn about the nomadic lifestyle. The Maasai people are famous for their bravery, as they have co-existed with the region’s wild animals for centuries. Or go for an afternoon game drive returning to the camp for dinner and overnight stay. [Option 3] You could also do a very early morning Hot Air Balloon safari flight with some champagne breakfast then proceed for a full day game drive with packed lunch. Exit the park gate by 6 PM and return to your lodge by 6.30pm for dinner and overnight stay.
